Ogden Marathon Distances

26.2 Full MARATHON (bq)

This incredibly scenic Boston qualifier course starts at Dancing Moose Farm in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains at an elevation of 5423 ft. with open roads, green fields, and a beautiful river. The final half winds around Pineview Reservoir then drops into Ogden Canyon where you will run along the roaring Ogden River with breathtaking views of pine-covered slopes and steep rock cliffs. The course ends downtown Ogden on Historic 25th street at an elevation of 4,308 Ft. and an incredible finish line festival that is great for the whole family. The gentle downhill makes this event a fast Boston Qualifier, and is one of the many reasons why Runner's World and shape.com named it One of the Best Courses in America for First-Time Marathon Runners.

13.1 Half MARATHON

A USATF certified course, the Ogden Half Marathon begins at the midway point of the Full Marathon and at an elevation of 4,948 feet. At the start the race you will run around Pineview Reservoir, then drop into scenic Ogden Canyon where you will run along the roaring Ogden River. Breathtaking views of pine covered slopes changing into steep rock faces will be encountered along with quaint homes nestled along the river's edge. Exiting the canyon you run onto the Ogden River Parkway for approximately 2 miles before the final stretch along Grant Avenue towards Downtown Ogden. The course ends on Historic 25th street at an elevation of 4,308 Feet.


8.2 mile

The Ogden Marathon Scenic Canyon 8.2 Mi is run over the final 8.2 miles of the marathon course. This is a scenic point-to-point race starting in beautiful Ogden Canyon and ending at our world-class finish line on Historic 25th Street. The 8.2 Mi is a great bridge between a 5K and half marathon distance, and is a perfect to run or walk while awaiting a friend or family member to finish their full or half marathon race. Take in beautiful canyon views while you run along the Ogden River and head towards Downtown Ogden, where the community awaits to cheer you on during the final stretch to the finish line.


5k

The Ogden Marathon 5K starts near the Junction Downtown and winds along the Ogden River Parkway before looping back down Grant Avenue for about a mile until you cross the Finish Line. The Ogden River Parkway is a paved pathway that parallels the Ogden River through lush trees. This winding 3.1 mile course will rank amongst the most enjoyable 5K runs you'll ever experience.


relay MARATHON

Relay Marathon Teams consist of 2-5 participants. The marathon's beautiful course starts at an elevation of 5423 ft. The five legs of the relay will take members of your team by open roads, green fields, a beautiful gushing river, through Ogden Canyon with breathtaking views of pine covered slopes changing into steep rock faces, with a view of quaint homes nestled along the river's edge. The course ends downtown on Historic 25th street (elevation of 4,308 ft) with a Finish Line Festival that is great for the whole family.

Duos (Formerly Assisted push)

Ogden Marathon is proud to host duo teams for the marathon and half marathon distances, consisting of a non-ambulatory athlete pushed by an ambulatory runner in a specialized racing wheelchair. Wheelchairs must have a breaking mechanism accessible to both the athlete and the runner. To provide a safe experience for all participants, each race has a capacity of five Duo Teams.

The Duo Team program is non-competitive, and there are no separate award categories. Because the Duo Team Program is a separate event group, the duo runner and duo rider are not ranked among the Open field and are not eligible for an age group award. *More information on Duo's can be found on the Course Logistics page.


kids k

The Granite KidsK is one of our favorite events on marathon day! The KidsK starts at 12:30 pm in front of the Ogden Amphitheater and ends at the same finish line as all of our athletes! You'll want to be at the start line a little early...because we have a pre-run dance party for the kiddos and may have a few special visitors too! Whether you join in on the festivities with your little ones or hang on the sidelines for high-fives, this is an event you will not want to miss! The KidsK is for ages under 12 and the course is less than 1 mile. Everyone will receive a superhero cape and a finishers bell for participating. Registration for this event will open in early May.

The Ogden Marathon is Northern Utah’s premier athletic event and was voted Best Marathon in Utah in 2025. As we head into the 25th running in 2026, excitement around race weekend will be higher than ever.

Fleet Feet Fun & Fitness Expo – Friday, May 15 at Union Station

This year, the Fleet Feet Fun and Fitness Expo returns to its Ogden roots at the iconic Union Station. A refreshed layout will help participants connect easily with sponsors and vendors, creating an engaging experience for all.We’re also proud to showcase Ogden’s history by offering free access to the Union Station museums during the expo. This added attraction is expected to draw runners, spectators, and members of the public, giving vendors even more opportunities to connect.With up to 10,000 projected attendees, the expo is the place for sports, health, and fitness enthusiasts to learn, explore, demo, and purchase products and services from vendors like you.

Finish Line Festival – Saturday, May 16 at Ogden Municipal Gardens

More than 15,000 runners and spectators will gather at the Finish Line Festival to celebrate with food, live music, family activities, and vendor booths showcasing merchandise, products, services, art, and more.
