Winter Running Series

Official Training Series of the

Ogden Marathon

The Winter Running Series helps you train for either a Full Marathon or Half Marathon come springtime. This four-part training series supported by race specific 18-week training plans, designed by Coach Lora Erickson of blonderunner.com.

The Winter Running Series will help prepare you to run any distance in the Ogden Marathon, or train for other springtime running events! Register for the full series or individual events.

Dogs/Pets are NOT allowed at the Winter Running Series, pre-race packet pickup, at any start line, or anywhere on course. Due to large crowds and race sizes, we encourage you to leave all pets at home for the day for both the safety of participants and the pets.

WHAT IS THE SHORT COURSE?

The series will continue to offer a Half Marathon Training Series, also known as the "short course." The Half Marathon Training Series will be on the same day as the full series but will feature a shorter course designed to get you ready for the Ogden Half Marathon.

Please note that the short distance series is offered as a non-competitive service. Participants in the "short course" will not be included in awards. You will have the option to choose whether you'd like to run the full course or the short course at each race.

Course Elevation

Course elevation for the 10K, 10 Miler, and Half Marathon can be viewed HERE.

COURSE CUTOFF TIME

There is no cutoff time to complete any of the Winter Race Circuit events. Courses will be supported with aid stations and road closures long enough for participants running an average pace of 20 minutes per mile to complete the course. We encourage participants who are still on course after road closures are lifted to use caution when crossing roads and to carry hydration with them if they do not anticipate meeting the cutoff times. Some vendors may be packed up, but our team will be there to cheer everyone across the finish line.

Packet Pickup & BIBS

This year we are reducing waste by reusing bibs for each race in the Winter Running Series. We ask that you please KEEP YOUR BIB and bring it with you to each of the four events. There will be a $10 replacement fee for lost or forgotten bibs.

Packet Pickup Date & Location:

Friday, February 16, 2024 | 4:00 - 7:00 PM

If you are registered for a standalone event, you may pick up your race packet at the GOAL Tent on race morning between 7:00 - 7:45 AM.

STANDALONE "A LA CARTE" Events

***Please Note***
In order to keep prices low, the Participant Shirt is not included with standalone a la carte distance registrations. If you would like to purchase a shirt, please add it on for $15 at the end of your registration form. With your standalone registration you will receive a finisher's medal for the event you participate in, along with course support including professional timing, aid stations, and finish line treats!

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO ALL 4 RACES?

If you need to miss a race, you may still earn your medal for that distance by running virtually before the next race and submitting your time by emailing a photo of your distance and time to admin@goalfoundation.com.

If you wish to qualify for an award, you must complete the long course in-person at all 4 events.

AWARDS

Awards will be given to the Full Series Winners (top 3 male, top 3 female, top 3 non-binary) in the overall and masters categories (ages 40+).

There are no awards for the half marathon training "short courses" or virtual events.

If you wish to qualify for an award, you must complete the long course in-person at all 4 events. A cumulative points-based score will be calculated from placement points awarded for each event (1st place gets 1 point, 2nd gets 2 points, etc.) The lowest score possible is 4 points (won all 4 events).
